Versace is an Italian fashion design company that was started by the late Gianni Versace and carried on after his death by other family members. When the company made its 1978 debut with a women's clothing line, it immediately became popular. In the same year, the brand launched a men's collection and opened its first store in Milan. The Medusa image was selected by Gianni Versace as his company's emblem. Inspirations from pop art to classical Greek and Roman architecture can be seen in the company's opulent apparel and accessories.
Gianni Versace for Women, the first Versace scent, debuted in 1981. Versace, Versus, Jeans, and Jeans Couture are brands that sell both male and female fragrances. Versace fragrances are created in collaboration with Euroitalia SRL.
